1981 - Lynn Community Health Center: Gay AA meetings
Substance use, especially alcohol, was common in the LGBTQ+ community. Gay men in recovery started gay Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, which were open to everyone and attended by many LGBTQ+ alcoholics.
