Lynn's first Youth Pride event organized by Be You, an LGBTQ+ group on June 4, 2016 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. by an LGBTQ+. Be You grew out of the church's OASIS drop-in center and was run by Pastor Daniel Bell and Jason Cruz.

2015 - Be You calls attention to homeless LGBTQ+ youth
LGBTQ+ youth group, Be You, built a house on the church lawn to call attention to youth homelessness especially for LGBTQ+ youth. Be You was run by Pastor Daniel Bell and Jason Cruz of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

2008 - Lynn candlelight walk for World AIDS Day
Lynn’s Strongest Link, Project Cope, Girls Inc. of Lynn, Women of Color AIDS Council, HES Gay & Bi Men’s Health Program, Lynn Community Health Center, and others host the walk and a musical program at the end at St. Stephen’s Church.

2003 - Rev. Jane Gould editorial on same-sex marriage
Reverend Jane Gould of St. Stephen's Memorial Episcopal Church in Lynn wrote an Item op-ed, “Same-sex relationships must be protected” in support of same sex marriage. St. Stephen's continues to be an affirming and welcoming place for the LGBTQ+ community.

1982 - "It's not easy to find a safe place" in Lynn
NSGLA Town Meeting acknowledges that it was difficult to find a safe place in Lynn to meet outside of the bars. NSGLA did meet at St. Stephen’s.
