Joseph's Restaurant was opened in 1988 by owners Karl D. Norgoal and his partner Joseph Grover. The couple wanted to create a piano bar atmosphere. The bar closed in 2004.

1980 - A lot happens at Tamany Hall
Tamany Hall Lounge, popular with LGBTQ people, operated from 1978 to 1981, when it burned in a large Central Square fire. A patron who happened to be there when the fire started, said the bar had a back room and that a pimp, one of the managers, "ran his girls" out of the bar.

1980 - After the bars close, go to the Boston Street Diner
When the bars closed, the place to go was the Boston Street Diner. The diner opened in 1941 and closed in 1985. In 2006 the diner, a classic design, was moved to Spring Lake, NH for restoration.
